Earlier this evening I had a short video call with my friend Susu (26) in Freetown, Sierra Leone. At the end of the call he raised his arm, and showed me what was written on it. For a moment I was afraid it was a tattoo, but luckily he had just written it with a marker. It was to remind him where important information can be found... well, in fact, a year ago I provided him with an email address with my business name. But he's still struggling like so many to find proper work or start a business in this poverty-stricken country. There's so much he can do, there's so much power wasted. Who's going to hire or do business with him?
